About the Team

Cardlytics is growing its Platform Engineering team and we’re looking for an experienced leader who is eager to bring their knowledge, experience, and skills to our organization as we evolve our technology infrastructure and operations!  We work with new and innovative technologies and our work impacts the entire organization. 

About the Position
 

You will oversee and direct the Developer Experience and Infrastructure Team to ensure that our CI/CD pipeline, developer tools, platform services and infrastructure work securely, reliably and efficiently operating the platform as a service and product.

To support our business growth, our technology platform must be:

  • global – supports publishers, merchants and advertisers around the world, and local – has rich features and capabilities to support local requirements for international expansion.

  • agile - enabling fast product innovation velocity for multiple product lines.

  • intelligent - delivers transaction intelligence from a variety of data sources to drive consumer engagement.

Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee and direct the Developer Experience and Infrastructure Team to ensure that our CI/CD pipeline, developer tools, platform services and infrastructure work securely, reliably and efficiently operating the platform as a service and product

  • Help define our standard technology stack and processes that ensure we maximize the impact of our developer productivity investments, our security investments, facilitate easy cross-team transfers, and critically eases maintaining our compliance controls.

  • Understand next-generation platforms and technologies, and how to integrate them into the Cardlytics ecosystem to drive innovation. 

  • Provide guidance and education to teammates and the larger organization, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and org-wide adoption of best practices. 

  • Design and implement platform as a service solutions to drive adoption and acceleration of new technologies and design patterns across the organization. 

  • Collaborate with external teams in cross-functional efforts to implement and improve robust systems.

  • Ensure the high security, availability, performance and SLAs of our platform services and infrastructure.

  • Identify and manage platform as a service implementation projects.

  • Assist to devise, track and control the annual operating and capital budgets for the platform infrastructure department.

You have: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science or a directly related field preferred

  • 10+ years of management/leadership experience.

  • 5+ years’ experience architecting, implementing, and maintaining AWS environments utilizing components such as: 

    • Compute – EC2, EKS, Lambda 

    • Data Streaming - MSK

    • Security, Identity, and Compliance – Control Tower, Security Hub, IAM 

  • Extensive knowledge of best practice design patterns and processes based on the AWS Well-Architected Framework 

  • Proven leadership capabilities in platform engineering and platform as a service.

  • Strong familiarity with information security, risk management and compliance requirements.

  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience in project management, budget management and Business Continuity Plans

You are: 

  • Experienced and comfortable with providing thought leadership in the areas of cloud infrastructure, architecture, and automation. 

  • A leader of cross-functional, collaborative teams and projects within a complex engineering ecosystem. 

  • Effective at communicating with peers and leaders across disciplines in a constructive, solution-oriented way. 

  • Capable of utilizing data and observability tools to solve challenging problems and coordinate effective resolutions.
